About

Based in the England’s beautiful and unique countryside county of Gloucestershire, Rockabella Crafts was thought up in 2013 as a creative outlet for the owner, curator and fibre artist, Gemma. Having a natural passion for the crafting world, Gemma uses a variety of media to produce fibre art accessories, notions,  yarn, project bags and the odd tutorial to inspire others to get creative.

It wasn’t long before Gemma dove into the world of Etsy and shortly after, video podcasting, to share her creative journey with other crafters – documenting her creations and crafty life. Her view on life is to love what you do and do what you love, living mindfully and simply.

She lives in a large family home with her husband, cat, chickens, parents and grandfather, surrounded by trees and wildlife, gathering lots of inspiration from the natural world right on her doorstep. Gemma also has a passion for pop culture, the unique and whimsical and loves fantasy characters, from folklore and stories. Her family are extremely supportive of her crafting and are a huge inspiration, sharing delights and even the fails which every crafter experiences as they work on creative processes.

The main inspiration in her life, was her late Grandmother, who taught her how to knit at a young age. Life happened and so did the teenage years when knitting took a back step but Gemma always felt creativity would someday reappear. And so it did, knitting reemerged and as did that, so did crochet, followed by spinning, dyeing yarn and fibre, needle felting, clay work and sewing.
